LATE SPRING: Milky Oats (avena sativa)

Milky oats are generally ready for collection about the last week of May. Check back for updates.

Refers to the immature seed heads of the oat plant. Rich in nutrients, yields a potent yet gentle remedy that is best made fresh. The green seeds, when pierced exude a white latex. This is where the "medicine" is! Used as a nutritive restorative, supporting addiction recovery, frayed nerves. There is a very short window for collecting oats during this phase. The fresh "milky" latex yields the best results and remedies must be made fresh.
