As a family farm, we grow over 50 different varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs, berries and flowers on 66 acres and distribute them within 50 miles of the farm through farmers markets, and our on-site farm shop. The farm is also home to several honey bee hives, and a herd of goat and of cattle. Much of what we grow is used in making our own line of herbal products. We hope to be a sustainable and stable source of plants and ingredients for herbalists, homesteaders and others.
This all takes a lot of work.
Stallard Road Farm & Botanicals is committed to providing you with opportunities to connect with local agriculture on many levels—from offering employment opportunities and volunteer roles to workshops and agricultural tours that explore life on the farm.
Full and part time positions are available for qualified individuals. Team members work hard and long hours in the field daily, but enjoy the benefits that only working on a farm can provide. In addition, the focus of our farm is on cultivating and preparing medicinal and culinary herbs. You will become familiar with the many herbs we cultivate here. The goal is to impart a living knowledge of the plants and their many uses. Internships connected to herbal medicine making will be open in the future to those who have worked on the Farm.
Volunteer positions provide the opportunity to actively experience farm life, ask questions, and learn about successful small agriculture management. Gain some experience that goes beyond backyard gardening. Volunteer Days are monthly or upon special arrangements. This year we will be focusing on wattle fence making, plant propagation and more.
Witness agriculture in action—experiencing where food is grown rather than watching it arrive at supermarkets. Our farmers are happy to work with you to design a farm tour that fits into your group's interests.
Interested in learning to work with the plants? In-person lessons let you get up close and personal with the plants and the process by which they become great medicine! Check out our offerings or contact us directly for a custom crafted workshop for your group.
